One of my days this weekend we headed down to Cape May, New Jersey to spend the day and hopefully beat most of the 4th of July traffic. The main attraction for the day was whale watching. We didn’t quite get to see whales, but we did have an exciting visit by a pod of dolphins and their baby calf.

Along the way we were passed by the US Coast Guard doing their duty.

They were moving at quite high speed as you can imagine from this photograph.

Although we didn’t get to see whales from Cape May we were fortunate enough to take in the sunset. This was shot at really low light hand-held at Higbee Beach. I would put it in continuous high and hold the shutter down when the waves would come into perfect focus. I passed this through several Nik filters. Including, polarizer, tonal contrast, and glamor glow. The noise reduced using Dfine 2.0.
