Today me and Seth woke early and headed for Great Kills Park. The day started with birding in mind. As the day progressed macro work took over. Insects were a lot more cooperative today. Some interesting behavior was to be captured as well.

Early morning rays just coming out catching the little blue herons eye.

A boat tailed grackle eyeballing the recent yearly die off of mussles along the shore line.

A very patient albino bug currently being identified. Has some wicked looking mandables.

A beautiful orange sulfur butterfly in search of nectar.

One of my favorite encounters today. Found a spider feeding on its kill. Rather acepting of my presence for the most part.

Milk-weed beetle head shot portrait.

Sorry for the shorter post. Mexico hasn’t left me just yet. :-)
