Hello all,

Got in today to Oslo, Norway and boy was it a long flight. Thankfully I have recently conditioned myself in AK, Alaska to the late night sunlight; although Svalbard will have 24hrs of sunlight :-) . One thing to remember when visiting is how expensive it is here. For example we bought two regular water bottles as we got into Oslo and it was about 48 NOK. To put that in USD its about $10.60 or so…ouch! Glad the tap water is good!

As for today it was a bit dreary with overcast skies and the constant on and off rain. We took a quick walk around town in search of lunch and passed thorough The Royal Palace park area. Tomorrow we head off for our early morning flight up to the Svalbard Archipelago.

A few photographs from today:

Quiet park with tranquil fountains. Just watching the pigeons and enjoying the view.

Pigeons hoping for a passerby to have a seat and share a treat.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is a main attraction. The National Theater within the park.

Well thats all for night. Early morning ahead of me. Take care all and goodnight.
